Billings resident dies in single-vehicle crash near Roberts

Billings, Montana – In a tragic incident on U.S. Highway 212 near Roberts, 67-year-old James Fellows from Billings lost his life in a devastating one-vehicle rollover crash. Carbon County Sheriff Josh McQuillan confirmed the identity of the victim.

The accident occurred early Wednesday morning, with the Montana Highway Patrol detailing the sequence of events. Driving a Dodge Dakota SXT southbound around 8:55 a.m., Fellows’ vehicle encountered trouble at mile marker 80. According to a witness, the Dakota began to fishtail before veering off the road and rolling over, leading to fatal injuries for Fellows.

Compounding the tragedy, it was noted that Fellows was not using a seat belt at the time of the accident. The icy conditions of the roads were also highlighted as a significant factor contributing to the crash, underscoring the dangers faced by motorists during adverse weather conditions.
