Billings, Montana – A serious incident unfolded in Billings on Saturday afternoon, leading to the injury of one individual and the arrest of a local woman. Genevienne Rancuret, aged 55, is now facing multiple charges, including eight counts of felony assault with a weapon, DUI, and felony criminal mischief.
The situation began to develop around 12:33 p.m. when Billings police officers received several reports of a vehicle aggressively driving through the intersection of Sixth Avenue North and North 27th Street. A religious organization was present in this area at the time. Lt. Matt Lennick of the Billings Police Department provided details on the incident, stating that Rancuret drove at or through the group, which was positioned on the sidewalk, on multiple occasions. This reckless action resulted in a 45-year-old man being struck.
Following the incident, Rancuret left the scene, and medical personnel were called in to attend to the victim’s injuries. The police later conducted a traffic stop at around 2:31 p.m. in the 700 block of Central Avenue, leading to Rancuret’s apprehension.
Currently, Genevienne Rancuret is being held at the Yellowstone County Detention Center. In a significant development, the FBI has taken an interest in the case and is investigating the incident. The motivations behind this disturbing event remain a key focus of the ongoing investigation.
