Billings police arrest suspect in late-night shooting incident

Billings, Montana – After receiving reports of gunfire in west Billings on Tuesday night, the Billings police arrested a 20-year-old man, identified as Micah Jones. The arrest followed a tense situation that unfolded in a residential area just before midnight.

The incident began when officers were responding to a report of a gunshot in the vicinity of Laredo Place and War Bonnet Trail, located beneath Zimmerman Park. During their investigation, another gunshot was heard nearby, escalating the urgency of the situation.

Upon locating the suspect’s vehicle, officers conducted a search and discovered a stolen firearm and other incriminating evidence. This led to the arrest of Jones, who now faces multiple charges. He is being charged with felony criminal endangerment, possession of stolen property, and driving under the influence.

Following his arrest, Jones was booked into jail, marking a swift response by local law enforcement to a potentially dangerous situation involving firearms in a residential area. The arrest underscores the efforts of the Billings police to maintain safety and respond effectively to criminal activities.
